❤️ Tessa. huntaway x
Rehome on behalf

Spayed Female
4 years old

My name is Tessa and I am looking for a new home. While my people love me dearly, they feel that due to their work commitments and a move to Auckland I would be better off staying in the South Island. A place with a large garden, lots of outdoor space where I can lay around and enjoy myself and be allowed indoors to be part of the whole family.
So a bit about me:
- I'm 4 years old, desexed.
- I love going for a walk, but not really long ones as I have bilateral hip dysplasia.
- I love my Kong with peanut butter and chewing on a pigs ear.
- Sometimes I can be a bit stubborn, but I do have a vocabulary of words I know and biscuits and treats help me remember.
- I am allergic to beef and it gives me eczema on my paws
- I take a while to get used to strange people, I don't like them patting me or wanting a cuddle, I need to get to know you first before I want a cuddle from you. If you're a male then it's going to take a little longer to win my trust as I'm wary of strange men.
- Being a huntaway I do bark - I'll have a conversation with you, I'll bark at a dog to play, and sometimes if I'm unsure of a situation I'll bark till you tell me that it's ok. I also like lying quietly with everyone in the lounge while you watch the TV and will come up for a cuddle on the sofa with you.
- I sleep inside at night, I'll take myself off to bed if I'm feeling tired before you. I also have a dog sofa so if you've got one of those that would be fab.
- I can't live with cats, because I like to chase them but i am great with other dogs. I have had exposure to children but I don't currently live with any young children.

Fill out our adoption application form if you think you might have found your furever friend.

Our dog adoption package covers first vaccination, microchipping, registration on NZCAR (New Zealand Companion Animal Register), and desexing through Vet Marlborough. The package makes this daunting list much more affordable. Our animals are also monitored and treated for fleas, worms and any other illnesses whilst in our care.
