The Murphy’s started growing garlic in 1962 when Vera Murphy planted a 10 x 10 metre plot of garlic in Rapaura, Blenheim. Husband Mick planted shallots a few years later.

Today Murphy’s NZ growing is led by Patrick Murphy (Vera’s son), with John and Jessie Murphy heading the wider operation.

Murphy’s products are at the heart of delicious meals – they grow garlic and shallots that people love.
