No.1 Family Estate have been pioneers and specialist producers of Méthode Traditionelle in Marlborough since 1980. With roots in Champagne since 1684, Owner & Winemaker Daniel Le Brun Daniel crafts his wines using the same process perfected over 12 generations, by his family in France.

Daniel Le Brun has been called the Grandfather of Méthode Traditionelle in New Zealand. Adele Le Brun is responsible for marketing and business development. Adele is the force behind the elegant bottles and labels which have won international acclaim and is a founding member of Méthode Marlborough, a group dedicated to building recognition and respect for the heritage and quality of Marlborough's Méthode Traditionelle wines.

The No.1 Family Estate winery and vineyard is set in Marlborough’s beautiful Wairau Valley. The combination of soils and climate, that is consistent every year, reminds Daniel of Champagne in its best vintage years. Today, No.1 Family Estate is the only winery in New Zealand committed exclusively to producing premium Méthode Traditionelle.
